Welcome to the Bumblebees class!
Your teacher is Mrs Slater
Have a look at some of the exciting things we have been doing in our mixed Reception/Year 1 class.
Salt dough bones
In English the Year Ones have been learning about instructions. We worked in teams to read a set of instructions to make salt dough bones. We can't wait til the salt dough is dry so we can make animals!
We started our 'Animal Magic' topic by making animal pictures using natural resources.
Toys from the past day
Today Patrick from 'History off the page' came to visit us with lots of toys from the past. We got to play with them all and realised how much toys have developed over the years!
Who knew pumpkin hollowing was such hard work? After using lots of our muscles, the pumpkins were empty and ready to be carved.
Making hedgehog bread rolls
As part of our learning about Harvest, we learnt how wheat is harvested and made into flour. We then thought it would be a good idea to use some flour to make our own hedgehog bread rolls!
Today the Bumblebees celebrated Lincolnshire Day! As part of the celebrations, we tried some Lincolnshire sausages, Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and Lincolnshire plum bread. They all got a big thumbs up!
Out topic this term is 'all about me' so we decided to paint our self-portraits.
Meeting our buddies
On one of our taster days, we got to meet our buddies. We made photo frames together to make a display in our classroom. We cant wait to see our buddies again on the first day of school!
