What should I do if I think my child has special needs?
Your first point of call is your child’s class teacher. It is particularly useful to share information about what you see at home and talk to them about your concerns.
If your child is pre-school age speak to your Health visitor or Nursery/Pre-school staff.
If you are concerned that your child may have a medical need your GP will also be able to offer support.
Can I self-refer if I am concerned that my child needs additional hep?
You can ask your GP to refer you for specialist health assessments
Anyone can bring a child or young person who they believe has, or probably has SEN or a disability, to the attention of the local authority.
