Carpenter bees (Year 5 and 6) are taught by Miss Morley with the help of the teaching assistants Mrs Redford, Mrs Rae and Mrs Swinfield-Wells. We always try our best to challenge each other and create a fun learning environment.
Our classroom is a bright and stimulating place to be. Every morning kicks off with a Maths starter to get our brains working, we then move on to our new Maths learning. After break it is English, where we look at developing our reading, grammar and punctuation and writing skills. We try to link our English into other subjects and topics. Some of the fun and exciting topics we will be looking at this year are Forces, The Water Cycle, The Roman Empire, Structures, Impressionism and many more!
In Carpenter bees, the children are encouraged to become as independent as possible and begin to take on more responsibility as the oldest children in our school. They enjoy taking on tasks such as supervising games and equipment at playtime, and being “buddies” for the new children in Reception and helping them to settle into school.
